Head-Up CPR Technology

Save the Brain.
Save the Person.

Most cardiac arrest survivors don't get their life back. Head-Up CPR changes that. Neuro Pro delivers evidence-based Head-Up CPR to every EMS team — at $79.95 per unit.

Out-of-hospital cardiac arrests

Every year in the United States. Many survive. Most don't recover neurologically. Standard supine CPR hasn't improved these outcomes in decades.

🧠
Brain damage is the real outcome
Survivors frequently face permanent cognitive impairment — not from the arrest itself, but from inadequate cerebral perfusion during CPR.
📉
Supine CPR doesn't optimize CPP
Standard flat CPR fails to reduce intracranial pressure or drain venous blood from the brain. The science has recognized this for years.
💲
The only solution was unaffordable
Until now, Head-Up CPR required devices costing thousands per unit — out of reach for most fire departments and EMS agencies.

Most survivors don't get their life back.

Cardiac arrest doesn't just threaten the heart. It threatens the brain. Every second without adequate cerebral perfusion is neurons lost — and even after the heart restarts, the damage to the brain may already be done.

Head-Up CPR uses gravity to reduce intracranial pressure and dramatically improve cerebral blood flow during resuscitation. The science is settled. The question is access.

CPP > 20–30 mmHg
Target cerebral perfusion pressure
Correlates significantly with neurologically intact survival. Neuro Pro achieves and sustains this target in standard field conditions.

Steve Islava
Firefighter Paramedic · Inventor
"I watched people survive cardiac arrest and never come back to who they were. I knew there had to be a better way."

Steve Islava didn't start in a lab. He started in the field — as a firefighter paramedic, responding to cardiac arrest calls and watching the same outcome repeat. Hearts restarted. But patients didn't come home the same.

The research on Head-Up CPR was already there. The science was clear. The tool wasn't. Existing solutions cost thousands per unit, pricing out the departments that needed them most. Protocol change stalled — not because Medical Directors didn't believe the data, but because they couldn't access it.

Steve built Neuro Pro to close that gap. A patent-pending, single-use elevation board — manufactured in Anaheim, California from recycled materials — that gives every EMS team the ability to run evidence-based Head-Up CPR at $79.95 a unit.

Not a pilot-program luxury. Standard equipment. The way it should be.

Precision elevation.
Zero complexity.

Three pounds. No assembly. No new vendor relationships. Neuro Pro slots into your existing LUCAS or ARM XR workflow — and every elevation angle is printed right on the board.

Step 01
10°
Elevate the Thorax
Neuro Pro immediately elevates the heart and lungs to 10° — the clinically validated angle for optimal pulmonary blood redistribution and hemodynamic stability during compressions.
Step 02
5° / 30s
Gradual Head Elevation
The wedge advances in 5° increments every 30 seconds — preventing the dangerous aortic pressure drop caused by rapid elevation. Slide the column. Count. Advance. Controlled and repeatable every time.
Step 03
30°
Lock and Optimize
Full 30° head elevation achieved over two minutes and locked in. Intracranial pressure drops. Cerebral perfusion pressure rises. The brain gets the blood flow it needs to survive the arrest event intact.

The science isn't emerging.
It's settled.

ILCOR and multiple peer-reviewed studies confirm what the data has shown for years. The question was never whether Head-Up CPR works — it was how to make it accessible.

How elevation improves brain survival

During cardiac arrest, blood pools in the cranial vault. Standard supine CPR improves cardiac output — but simultaneously forces blood against elevated intracranial pressure, reducing the cerebral perfusion driving oxygenated blood to the brain.

Head-Up CPR uses gravity to drain venous blood from the brain, reducing intracranial pressure and dramatically increasing the pressure gradient that keeps brain cells alive.
